Postdoctoral Research Associate studying cell fate decisions in Pancreas
The Centre for Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine (CGTRM) is the nucleus of a vibrant scientific and clinical community engaged in research into stem cells and their potential therapeutic benefits. It occupies the entire 28th floor of Guy’s Hospital tower and is equipped with a large open plan laboratory including chemical, tissue culture, histology, confocal microscopy and state of the art imaging equipment.
Located in the CGTRM, the Sancho Lab focuses in studying molecular cues behind cell fate decisions in pancreas.
Our main goal in the lab is to decipher the fundamental regulatory networks involved in pancreatic cell fate decisions using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and to apply this knowledge to new strategies in regenerative medicine for diabetes.
The post-doctoral researcher will join an enthusiastic, collaborative, hardworking and dynamic team and will work on an MRC funded project aimed to characterise novel regulatory mechanisms identified for the key pro-endocrine transcription factors driving beta-cell differentiation.
